Lisa SilvaLiza Silva was born in the charismatic city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Liza moved to the U.S to broaden her musical knowledge and present North America with the contagious rhythms of the music of Brazil. Together with Walter Wanderley (the man who popularized Summer Samba), Liza toured the United States for years. She has also lived in Japan and France where she sang in top venues, and was a sought after fashion model and acted in top films. Liza Silva is dedicated to performing the traditional styles of Brazilian, American, and European music, by blending them with various Latin rhythms. These performances provide a range of intimate, dynamic, exciting and danceable music for small and large venues with the heart, soul, and energy of the souls of the past. Music is the soul of life for Liza and she is a champion of connecting with her audience. The richness of Brazilian music speaks of wide diversity, whether it’s Samba, Bossa Nova, Afro-Samba, Forro, Carnaval, Lambada, and each of these musical genres represent the journey of Liza’s music and what she intends to contribute to the universe. While each state, region, city and district of Brasil brings its own style, rhythm and pulse to the musical community, Liza Silva has a patent on tying her own interpretation of the music of her beautiful homeland Brasil and the place she now calls home, the San Francisco Bay Area.

AltaThe Alta is a project that Rafael and I started representing real Afro-Cuban jazz on the mambo tip incorporating spicy latin grooves. The history period I'm mirroring ranges from the 70s- to present day. My influences are Herbie Hancock, Danilo Perez, Keith Jarrett, Meschell N'dechello, Bobby McPherrin, Kenny Garrett, Mccoy Tyner, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Arturo Sandoval, Guillermo Rubacaba, Danilo Perez, Gonzalo Rubacaba, Poncho Sanchez, Mongo Santamaria, Ray Barretto, Pete Escovedo, Eddie Palmieri, Cachoa, Dave Valentin, and Stevie Wonder.
